Post Adoption Support Services

Building Hope for Adoptive Families

Center for Child and Family Health

Our Team

We recognize that when it comes to adoption, every child and family is unique, with their own set of strengths and challenges. Everyone on the Post Adoption Team understands this and works to meet the individual needs of each child and their family.  We provide comprehensive high quality care with a family centered  team approach. We focus on strengthening relationships created by adoption by providing a supportive environment for adoptive families to explore adoption related issues and address challenges as they arise.

Our team of clinicians are highly trained in giving support to children, adolescents, and parents on a full range of adoption-related issues as well as common mental health concerns such as learning/attention problems, school refusal, low self-esteem, social or peer related problems, effects of trauma, attachment related issues, risky behavior problems, and grief and loss.

Our clinicians have received training in many evidence-based treatments including Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), Attachment-Biobehavioral Catch-up (ABC), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Triple P - Positive Parenting Program.  In addition, many of our clinicians have completed the Training for Adoption Competency (TAC), developed by the Center for Adoption Support and Education (C.A.S.E.) to provide quality clinical services to adopted persons, adoptive parents and kinship families (C.A.S.E., 2014).
